A Comparison of Heating Shrink Film Test Methods
Oil Bath, Drying Oven, and Air Heating
Many shrink film types exist (PE, POF, etc.) used for packaging a wide variety of products. Different products require films with specific shrink performance (shrink rate, shrinking force, contracting force) for optimal packaging. Poor shrink performance can lead to loose or crushed products.
The most widely used test methods measuring shrink performance are oil bath, drying oven, and air heating.
To choosing the Right Test Method, clients need to consider material quality, product standard, and test purpose when selecting a method. If a product standard specifies a test method, follow those guidelines. Air heating is preferred for high-efficiency testing, automatic testing, or replicating high-temperature shrinking processes.
Select the appropriate shrink film test method to ensure proper packaging for your products.
