NEW: Ti:sapphire laser by Laser-export Co.

TiSon GSB is a new product in the family of high-energy nanosecond lasers by LASER-COMPACT. It is a broadly tunable Ti:Sapphire laser specially developed for photoacoustic imaging.

Laser-compact group introduces a new series of unique high-energy broadly tunable compact nanosecond Ti:Sapphire lasers (brand name -"TiSon"). TiSon lasers have been developed specifically for photoacoustic imaging (PAI) in biomedical applications. This novel technique provides structural and functional information of tissues. In addition to high-resolution visualization of biological objects, PAI has the ability to detect hemoglobin, lipids, water and other light-absorbing chromophores by taking a measurement at several wavelengths (the Multi-Spectral or Multi-Wavelength PAI technique).

"TiSon"-lasers present the following advantages for use in PAI applications:

- The tunable wavelength range of 700-900 nm for deep light penetration into biological tissues. It is the most used region for PA imaging in biomedical applications. Since absorption of different biological objects has strong wavelength selectivity, by choosing the right wavelength it is possible to significantly increase contrast of object of interest and by using several different wavelengths get an image of several objects in a single frame.

- Programmable Fast Wavelength Switching. This feature allows to program wavelength and energy of every laser pulse at 1 kHz repetition rate. Fast wavelength switching is important to prevent distortion due to breathing or blood pulsation during in vivo applications.

- High energy (up to 400 ) for deeper penetration.

- Short pulse duration (< 6 ns) which directly impacts the spatial resolution and usable acoustic wave bandwidth.

- Up to 1 kHz pulse repetition rate - in order to increase signal to noise ratio.

- Ultra-compact footprint, both pump and Ti:Sapphire lasers in one housing.

- Fiber output option is available upon request.
