L.B. Bohle grows continuously

Sales significantly increased in anniversary year

Just in time for its 40th anniversary, L.B Bohle has added a particularly successful chapter to its 40-year success story. The fiscal year 2021 ended with the highest sales in the company's history. "The development of continuous manufacturing systems and the long-term investment in global service are paying off," says Tim Remmert, Executive Director Sales. Thanks to an already strong order inflow for 2022, the company hopes to continue this trend.

Cancellation of trade shows, massive contact restrictions and lockdowns in almost all economic regions - the year 2021 started under bad signs with the third Corona wave. "Despite this difficult situation, L.B. Bohle invested in new development projects, a new plant and the expansion of global services," reports Tim Remmert. "This courage was rewarded: major projects not only in the U.S. and Germany, but also in South America were successfully realized."

Batch equipment remains a bestseller

As one of the demanded suppliers, L.B. Bohle provides its customers from the pharmaceutical industry with classic batch production equipment. "Our machines for tablet production are highly requested in different sizes," explains Thorsten Wesselmann, Executive Director Technology.

Growth recalls the early days

The 2021 anniversary reminds company founder Lorenz Bohle of the early days. "We saw annual growth of 20-50% in the early years of existence, but of course we came from a lower level," says the founder. Since 1981, he has built L.B. Bohle as a machine builder for pharmaceutical manufacturing and established itself as a global technology leader.

"Due to the pandemic and all restrictions in the fall of 2021, the planned anniversary event had to be canceled," Bohle regrets. "But we will reschedule the anniversary gala on May 20, 2022, in the Olympia-Halle in Ennigerloh."

And on May 18 and 19, 2022, L.B. Bohle will welcome experts at the "Innovation Days" to inform them about the status and future of continuous manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry. The international workshop is held in May at the new Plant 4, for which the groundbreaking took place in March 2021. On the 12,000 m² site, a production area of approximately 2,000 m² is being built to the latest standards.

Global services increasingly in demand

Especially in 2021, L.B. Bohle increased its after-sales business and strengthened its team. "As the number of installed machines and systems on the market is constantly increasing, the demand for spare parts and especially machine retrofits are also growing. With our expanded team, we can quickly meet this demand. It is flexible and efficient," says Tim Remmert.

Company growth also means an increase in the number of employees

The topic of personnel is highly listed on the L.B. Bohle agenda. "We currently employ around 270 people at our sites in Ennigerloh and Sassenberg, and our employees have been with the company for a long time. Currently, we continue to recruit skilled workers to achieve continuous sales growth, to meet the strong demand and to maintain our top position in the market," reports Thorsten Wesselmann.

Particularly in the areas of customer service and software development, reinforcements are continuously needed.
