“b.sure®” allows machine operators to mon-itor their process data at all times on their mobile device

In order to detect deviations from the process parameters or er-ror messages at an early stage, the system operators must have access to the operating panels at all times. Today, system error and warning signals are often only displayed with status light indicators. “However, if the machine operator cannot see the status light, the system may stop in the event of a fault or con-tinue to run with the wrong parameters,” explains Wesselmann. These failures can be avoided because all systems with pro-grammable logic controllers (PLC) already collect a wide range of process and operating data which is immediately available on the machines.

“With b.sure®, we have developed an appli-cation, by which the operating data and parts of the process data are sent to and processed by a communications server. This means that the customer can keep track of the processes from authorized end devices or at the PC workstation. In addi-tion, the app features a maintenance mode with notification function which provides information about upcoming mainte-nance and calibration,” says Wesselmann. “The system opera-tor not only receives a message in the event of a system fault, but also if the parameters deviate from the setpoints. The op-erator can also monitor several plants in parallel and respond quickly. Wesselmann: “The operator gains valuable time by tak-ing measures that safeguard the quality of the product.

b.sure® is web-based and can be opened either on the respec-tive device or via email. To prevent unauthorized access, an administrator must enter the systems and authorize operators beforehand on the communications server. It is not possible to change the processes themselves via b.sure®.
