Leister Lasersystems training at Leister China

The applications utilizing laser plastic welding technology are becoming more and more widely used in industries such as: automotive, medical, sensors, electronics, as well as microsystems. In China during 2015—with the government support during the 13th Five-Year Plans―laser plastic welding is facing a great opportunity in the Chinese market.

During August of 2015, Mr. Carsten Wenzlau, product manager with Leister Technologies AG (Kaegiswil, Switzerland) visited Leister Technologies Ltd. in Shanghai and provided colleagues, from Leister China, with in-house technical training concerning the following topics:

- Comprehensive introduction on Leister’s laser plastic welding products, especially the NOVOLAS™

Tabletop System (TTS). The TTS is an all-in-one, integrated tabletop system for the laser welding of

plastics. Mr. Wenzlau introduced the local laser team to the TTS’ features and possible applications.

- As an important part of this technical communication, local laser team members shared (with Mr.

Wenzlau) the latest customers’ demands and opinions regarding desired product improvements.

Through this training and communication, the local laser team enhanced their understanding of Leister’s laser products and received a deeper knowledge on system operation and maintenance. In contrast, the laser team in Leister Switzerland received a more in-depth understanding of the demands and applications of the Chinese market.
