contactless absolute encoder with Multi Adaptive Range Sensor

The SMA3 contactless absolute encoder from Lika Electronic can be installed in rotary and linear applications and integrates the MARS Multi Adaptive Range Sensor.

It enables the size of the pole to be adjusted in order to fit perfectly the ring or the linear travel in the specific application.

It is designed for long linear measuring lengths up to 19.3 m / 63.32 ft; i.e. for shaft diameters greater than 6 m / 19.685 ft in a rotary application. It is perfect for material handling and transportation systems, automated storage systems, and pallet transport systems, even in curved installations.

The SMA3 is designed in a compact IP67 protected readhead. Installation is easy thanks to the wide mounting tolerances larger than 1 mm. Working speed is up to 20 m/s.

The SMA3 offers a resolution down to 0.29 µm and provides both the absolute information for position feedback via BiSS and SSI interfaces and additional Sine/Cosine signals for speed feedback.

The position refresh rate is very fast (15 µs) and makes the encoder perfect for speed feedback needs.
