New SME91 and SME92 incremental linear encoders with reference marks integral to the magnetic tape

The new SME91 and SME92 incremental linear encoders are well suited to demanding motion control needs in linear motors.

The new SME91 and SME92 incremental linear encoders from Lika Electronic are ideally suited for advanced motion control needs in linear motors, servomotors, and various motion control applications thanks to their high resolution down to 50 nm, the fine accuracy better than ±10 µm, and the reliable operation even at fast speeds up to 100 m/s.
They are compact and rugged, featuring a zinc die-cast housing and an IP67 protection rating which enable installation even in harsh industrial environments. The operation is magnetic and contactless, rendering them insensitive to dust, moisture, oil, contaminants, and vibrations.
The reading head can be paired with the 5 mm or 10 mm wide MTI magnetic tapes and optionally read the reference marks for the homing function. The reference signal can be provided for each pole (i.e., every 1 mm for SME91 or every 2 mm for SME92), every 20 mm, every 50 mm, and in any custom position along the travel according to individual requirements when the marks are encoded in the additional track of the 10 mm wide magnetic tape. The max length of the tape is 2.3 m when the additional reference track is provided.
The SME91 and SME92 encoders offer AB0 /AB0 quadrature signals through the Line Driver RS-422 output circuit. The power supply is +5Vdc. They are also equipped with an LED for diagnostic information (position, frequency, and speed error) and a high-flex cable suitable for use in cable drag chains.
