ITVS borescopes have been long known on the market for their outstanding qualities such as reliability, durability, precision and an extensive feature selection. However, the recently announced Videoscope-XT signifies a major breakthrough in comparison to the rest of the product line. The new device fills the need for an explosion proof borescope. As it is known, there are still no officially approved intrinsically safe borescopes on the market. This camera was submitted to the most stringent military testing in order to determine its behaviour in explosion prone environments. It would not be an exaggeration to say that at this point in time the Videoscope-XT meets to the fullest degree possible the definition of an intrinsically safe camera. It was tested under the method 511 MIL-STD-810G standard in an explosive environment, and it was established that the camera conforms to the NFPA 70 – Class 1 Division 2 certification.
This makes the camera a preferred choice for aircraft engine and other aviation examinations, military and law enforcement related inspections, fuel tank checkups and other similar type of inspections where a risk of explosion is present.
