The traditional cabinet installation of servo controllers, especially in larger machines, seems almost a bit antiquated. The new decentralized AKD-N servo drives from Kollmorgen can be placed in the immediate vicinity of the motor thanks to its robust, compact construction and protection class IP67. The AKD-N provides everything required in a high performance servo drive and does away with anything that hinders simplicity - unnecessary cables, for example. Why transfer 372 meters, if 42 meters are sufficient? Opening up new opportunities by bringing servo drive technology where it is really needed - close to the servo motor- the AKD-N offers users new opportunities to build machines with less cabling, smaller footprints and faster throughput.
Benefits:
• More compact machines through smaller cabinet
• Savings in cabinet air conditioning due to reduced drive losses
• Faster setup due to significantly reduced cabling
• Maximum degree of freedom in motor selection
• Less hardware and reduced cabling through integrated I/O
