MD Direct-Drive Servo Motor-Drive Roller— Taking on the Summer Heat: A High-Temperature, Heavy-Duty Conveying Solution for Tire Vulcanization
MD Direct-Drive Servo Motor-Drive Roller
Vulcanization is a critical process in tire manufacturing, and the high temperatures involved present a serious challenge for conveying equipment: process temperatures inside the vulcanization molds reach as high as 160℃, the surface temperature of semi-finished tires reaches 80℃ after demolding, and ambient temperatures in the vulcanization work area can reach 55℃. For these reasons, this entire production stage relies on a fully automated conveyor line.
The line runs on a tight cycle time, requiring the conveyor equipment to start and stop at least 12 times per minute. To meet these frequent start-stop demands, the customer preferred an integrated Motor-Drive Roller solution over one built around external gear motors and drive units. However, conventional Motor-Drive Rollers are typically rated for a maximum operating temperature of only 40℃, and this project called for conveying large and medium-sized tires weighing up to 60kg each — meaning the rollers would need greater drive force, and would generate more heat as a result. Under these conditions, high-temperature resistance and heavy-duty durability became the customer's primary concerns for the Motor-Drive Rollers.
To meet this extreme operating environment, We developed its proprietary MD Direct-Drive Servo Motor-Drive Roller, purpose-built to withstand the demanding conditions of tire vulcanization.
