New Magtrol LE4XX and LE6XX Series Load Measuring Pins with more on board safety!

World-wide leader in Load Measurement and Overload Control on cranes and lifting devices, Magtrol, presents its LE4XX and LE6XX Series Load Pins. Driven by the norms towards Machinery Categorizing Equipment (CAT) and defined safety standardization (PL and SIL), Magtrol develops its new generation of load pins with integrate electronics providing 4-20 mA output proportional to the applied load.

Based on the mature strain gage technology, Magtrol’s load pins are used for the measurement of tensile and compressive forces across a wide range of applications, including crane/lifting, industrial, transport, marine, offshore as well as civil engineering and covers a standard nominal range from 2.5 kN to 1250 kN. The new load pins series have been developed in accordance with ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061 standards whereas the mono-channel LE4xx series achieve CAT2 safety level, Performance Level PLd as well as SIL 2 (Security Integrity Level). As a dual channel (fully redundant with 2 output signals) the LE 6xx Series load pins achieve levels of safety CAT 4 & PLe as well as SIL 3. Both series also integrate a B.I.T.E. (Built-In Test Equipment) function which allow to perform a test of the amplification circuit at any time, bringing even more safety into the equipment. For a specific application, Magtrol has got ECE-R10 certification on its LE 6xx Series, allowing it use on board rescue vehicles.

Beside its standard range, Magtrol provides special load pins (link page “load Measuring pins”) (with specific dimensions and nominal load) allowing to upgrade lifting equipment by simply replacing existing shear pins, clevis pins, shear axles or many other types by an instrumented load pin with same dimension and for load up to 3500 kN (350 tons).

These new sensor series complement a wide range of Magtrol force & load measurement solutions, including high safety level applications and harsh environments. By this new development, Magtrol confirms its innovative position in this field.
