Maillon Rapide Péguet: the clever connection

Péguet cares for the manufacture of metal connectors, known as Maillon Rapide® quick links, for any connection of fittings with chains, wire rope, webbing.

A Maillon Rapide quick link can be described as a mechanical connector composed of a rod and a nut. This specific device includes several shape, sizes and materials aimed at a simple and reliable mechanical connection.

Product manufacture is made through linear material transformation and assembly, processed on machine tools, some of which are developed in-house.

Cold processing on metal wire, while keeping mechanical properties unchanged, offers the possibility to obtain various product shapes: Standard (original quick link); Large Opening (extended shape); Delta (triangular); Square, and other specific shapes (Trapeze, Eyelet, Twist).

Quality insurance with raw materials suppliers is fundamental. A monitoring scheme enables a series of quality control through internal procedures on the whole manufacturing process. Stainless steel products are individually checked.

Product application

Maillon Rapide quick links are developed for permanent or semi permanent connections.

Providing any connection as a machinery part when fitted with chain, anchor, webbing, wire rope. Its use as a connector on Personal Protective Equipment - P.P.E, is possible with specially identified products.

Shape, size, material and finishing will be defined accordingly with the required application.

200 items are currently available for secured connection.

Two categories are defined according to product application, according to the engraved marking.

- Marking according to self certification – Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

Any connection as a machinery part is to be made with self-certified products. The CE mark & working load limit (WLL) are engraved on each single item. Breaking load is defined on a safety factor of 5 based on the working load limit.

- Marking according to P.P.E. – Personal Protective Equipment - Standards EN 362 & EN 12275

Maillon Rapide quick links used as a connector on P.P.E. (personal protective equipment) against falls from heights in industrial safety, mountaineering and rock climbing, are distinguished by this specific marking.
