This is the second out of three free masterclasses of XRF, explaining the differences of both XRF techniques and its related benefits.

X-ray fluorescence (XRF) is an analytical technique that can be used to determine the chemical composition of a wide variety of sample types including solids, liquids, slurries, and loose powders. It can quantify elements from beryllium (Be) up to americium (Am) in concentrations from 100% down to sub-ppm levels. After the first masterclass where we explained the basics of XRF, this second masterclass will go into more details of both types of XRF: wavelength dispersive (WDXRF) and energy dispersive (EDXRF) spectroscopy, and the differences between the two types.
