Consumer expectations on lithium-ion batteries have become more demanding. Batteries need to charge faster, weigh less, be smaller, store for longer yet perform better and safer. As material science researchers, we use multiple characterization tools to check the durability, performance under various environmental factors - temperature, pressure, stress and more. All for the hope of designing a high performing product.

Malvern Panalytical is proud to collaborate with IIT Kanpur in this 2 day free workshop focused on designing better battery materials. Malvern Panalytical scientists as well as invited guest speakers from renowned universities within India will not only share their research but also best practices on experimental methods, data collection, analysis and implications.

During the workshop, look forward to presentations on the analysis of battery packs as well as its components. These include battery cathodes, electrodes, coatings, raw materials. Participants can use this opportunity to expand their research applications towards using multiple analytical techniques to validate their findings. Speakers will be covering characterization methods such as phase analysis using X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis using X-ray fluorescence, particle size analysis using Laser diffraction, particle shape analysis using the imaging technique - Morphologically-directed Raman Spectroscopy.
