Malvern Panalytical launches Zetasizer Core

An industry first in biologics plate-based stability screening

Malvern Panalytical has announced the launch of the Zetasizer Core, a new stability screening instrument designed to improve throughput, generate deeper insights, and streamline workflows in early-stage biologics discovery.

Developed in collaboration with Dimer Instruments and building on more than 30 years of Zetasizer expertise, the Zetasizer Core is the first instrument to simultaneously measure three key indicators of physical instability on a standard microwell plate: structural stability, colloidal stability, and aggregation behavior. By combining Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Static Light Scattering (SLS), and intrinsic Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF) in a single experiment, researchers can make more informed decisions earlier in the development process.

The system is compatible with standard 96, 384, and 1536 well plates, allowing seamless integration into existing laboratory automation, robotics, and LIMS workflows. Using widely adopted plate formats reduces sample transfers and simplifies workflows.

The Zetasizer Core also delivers higher throughput, supporting up to 192 samples per run at a 1 °C/min thermal ramp, helping laboratories evaluate more formulations in less time.

Early users have highlighted the instrument’s high-quality DSF data, compatibility with high-throughput screening workflows, and suitability for protein-protein, protein-small molecule, and DNA-protein interaction studies.

Designed for biologics discovery, formulation development, and quality control, the Zetasizer Core is suitable for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, contract development, academic, and government research laboratories.

The Zetasizer Core will be available for customer shipment from 1 January 2027.
