One-stop-shop for safety and protection of photovoltaic systems

Mersen Electrical Power has it all for making photovoltaic systems safer and more reliable.

First of all a complete line of gPV-class fuses rated from 600VDC up to 1500VDC for the protection against short-circuit currents in junction box when chain of strings are combined, in re-combiner box when the PV power plant is large (solar farms) and at the input of solar inverter. This line encompasses 10x38mm, 10x85mm cylindrical fuses and global-accepted NH fuses. All these fuses are mounted in holders and bases. The last 1500VDC HelioProtection® NH fuse can be mounted directly on bus bar.

Mersen offers also DC switches for making maintenance safe at the level of junction box and re-combiner box just before the inverter.

On the surge protection side Mersen offers 1000VDC and 1500VDC Surge-Trap® surge protective devices for protecting against the damages of lightning strikes on PV fields. One at the input of the inverter is mandatory and depending of risk evaluation possible also in junction boxes.
