Routers / Gateways

For network connection of fieldbus components

In many building automation projects, customers demand a consistent connection of all automation components into a structured network cabling inside the building.

Benefits of our solution

• Recording and analysis of data

• Galvanic 3-way isolation (RS485- Ethernet-power supply)

• Integrated web server

• Simple configuration via the web interface

• Simple device search

• Fast connection via proven jumper plug technology

• Connection of max. 32 slaves per line

• Ethernet available everywhere in the building

• Almost no restriction on cable lengths

• Technology and manufacturer-independent

Modbus Gateway MR-GW

Fieldbus components, e.g. temperature sensors or measuring devices, usually have a Modbus RTU interface. They are integrated into the automation level by a Modbus TCP controller. The use of a controller is oversized in many applications, because of the complex programming and expensive hardware. The optimal solution is using a Modbus gateway. With the function of a protocol converter, the Modbus gateway enables simple integration of Modbus RTU slaves into a Modbus TCP network.

The METZ CONNECT Modbus Gateway MR-GW helps to integrate Modbus RTU devices into a Modbus TCP network and offers a very simple and cost-effective communication option of Modbus TCP clients with one or more Modbus RTU slaves.

BACnet IP-Router

With the METZ CONNECT BACnet router BMT-RTR, BACnet MS/TP devices are connected to a BACnet/IP network. The BMT-RTR is a compact multi-network router that allows routing between BACnet/IP, BACnet Ethernet and BACnet MS /TP networks. 32 BACnet MS/TP devices can be run on the router, thereby allowing unlimited transfer of BACnet objects between the BACnet /IP and BACnet MS /TP network.

The BMT-RTR router can be run as a BACnet /IP to BACnet MS/TP or BACnet Ethernet (ISO 8802-3) to BACnet MS/TP router. Using the integrated web server the BACnet router can be reached on an IP network. The configuration of the device and the parameterization of the two interfaces (Ethernet /RS485) is performed with a user-friendly web interface or the software tool "MC-Search Utility". The router also has a logging tool for the troubleshooting and analysis of the data that is sent.
