IBC 2024 - MTG successfully presented its latest studio microphones in Amsterdam

The modular concept of the Generation 4 microphone series supports rapid adaptation to a wide range of requirements and enables a more productive workflow.

The Generation 4 includes the ultra-compact microphone preamplifier MV 400 with two alternative connectors (LEMO® and XLR), the microphone capsules M 40 (cardioid), M 41 (super cardioid), M 42 (omnidirectional) and M 43 (wide-cardioid) as well as options and accessories for professional use.

With Generation 4, Microtech Gefell evolves from their existing tradition of modular microphone systems into a new and ultra-compact dimension.

The KEM 975 is a line array microphone system with a largely frequency-independent polar pattern, which – in the horizontal plane – has the features of a cardioid plane mic and – in the vertical plane – the features of a directional mic with an operating angle of approx. 30 degrees. Thus, the polar pattern is adapted to the frequent case that the sound source to be captured is wide in space or moves around in it and, at the same time, sound coming from other directions is to be suppressed. The sound to be rejected may consist of disturbing noises or reflections which come from the ceiling, table surfaces or floor areas. Due to its directional characteristics, the KEM 975 can be used for recording sound sources that are very extensive in width and depth or moving sound sources. Since the complete signal processing is analogue, there are no signal delays.

The M 300 Series are compact condenser mics in studio quality, well suited for vocal and instrumental soloists. lt permits a lifelike recording also at various sound incidence, e.g. announcer in synchronous studios, speaker, blower. The M 300 is designed for studio applications in radio, TV, broadcasting and films for live performance and recording of instruments, vocals and speech and sound reinforcement in the professional and semiprofessional market also under adverse acoustic conditions.

The M 930 studio condenser mics combine modern large diaphragm capsule technology with the latest in semiconductor circuit topology. They are specifically designed for professional and semi-professional users who demand the highest performance. The mics are ideally suited for universal miking applications in broadcast and sound or project studios. Applications include vocalists, announcers, dialog pickup and as spot mics for recording guitars, keyboard, percussion, wind and string instruments.

The CMV 563 - M 7 S is the original reissue of the vintage Gefell CMV 563. It has the typical warm, full-bodied sound of valve microphones that are preferred by vocalists and soloists. The vacuum tube pre-amplifier is equipped with the EF 86 pentode working as a triode selected for its sonic characteristics. The new power supply provides the operating voltage for the tube. and can be powered from AC mains with a primary voltage of 115 or 230 V / 50 or 60 Hz.
