The high level of efficiency of its coaxial gear motors is one of Mini Motor''s traditional strengths, in addition to its high product quality and uncompromising operating precision.

Industry players and clients throughout the world are now well aware that these three values are the result of a design and production cycle that takes place entirely within the company, including thorough checks performed during each stage of processing.

The case in point relates to a special stress test performed on a coaxial gear motor with a planetary reduction unit for 24 continuous months: the results met the highest of expectations in terms of the product''s durability and reliability.

A particularly “stressful” test

Mini Motor then recreated the conditions of actual use of the product by applying it to a de-humidifier supplied by the customer in an environment with a constant temperature of 20°C. In reality, it went further, “exacerbating” those conditions through special measures that rendered operation of the gear motor considerably more stressful, firstly by depriving it of its cooling fan, which could have resulted in overheating, and then by accelerating wear and tear. It then operated the motor continuously, 24 hours a day, for a total of over 15,000 hours of operation, corresponding to approximately 24 months. Over this long period of time, the gear motor was monitored daily to verify electrical power consumption, engine temperature and the condition of the Viton oil gaskets.

The result? Electrical power consumption was perfectly normal and the gaskets held up as planned, while the temperature of the engine without the fan climbed as high as 57°C without consequences. In order to check gear wear and tear, it was necessary to await the end of the test and disassemble the motor: no surprises here, either, unless of the positive variety, given that the level of wear and tear was standard, especially considering that 15 months under those conditions correspond to a significantly longer period of use.
