I.MX8M + Raspberry Pi Reverse the Embedded Solution

Raspberry Pi Ecosystem

The era of the Internet of Things is booming, from smart home appliances, smart buildings and smart transportation impacting our daily lives. The computing core of the Internet of Things is nothing more than image processing, network connection and message transmission. MiTAC, the leading-edge computing manufacturer, must ensure high resolution, high performance, and high security. MiTAC ND108T & ME1-108T, powered by latest NXP I.MX8M Dual/Quad Core A53 processor, overturns the computing logic for industrial solutions. A tiny, multi-functional and cost-efficient board, suitable for different kinds of vertical market embedded applications, without power consumption issues or extreme environmental problems.

The NXP's i.MX 8M family of processors offers up to four 1.5 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 plus Cortex-M4 cores. In addition, to its high performance and low power consumption the ND108T and ME1-108T offers flexible memory options and high-speed connectivity interfaces. The processors also feature full 4K UltraHD resolution and HDR video quality, plus the highest levels of professional audio output.

To accomplish an industrial or embedded application, which is much complex than a commercial application, such as machine vision, automated optical inspection, or a robotic automation conveyor, requires more function and expansion I/O for devices to communicate each other. To offer the flexibility to clients and create the right IOT environment for such tiny boards, the ND108T and ME1-108T breaks the limitations of the Raspberry Pi 40 pins GPIO, but at the same time making the ND108T have it and compatible with Raspberry Pi vast peripheral (especially HATs) eco-system.
