To meet the needs of all operators the designers of SENSiA have come up with choice of innovative controls, including fingertip controls that ensure precise handling even when wearing heavy protective gloves. For those who prefer them, dual joysticks allow simultaneous operation of both lift and tilt functions.
A dual foot pedal also enables a rapid change of direction without the operator having to shift their feet or use the hand controls.
On the basis that predictability is the most important factor in optimising operator performance, the design team at Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks has set entirely new standards.
Speed and safety around the site are optimised with the help of intuitive handling software that automatically adapts performance characteristics to the driving style and ability of each individual driver. The revolutionary SDS (Sensitive Drive System) employs ground-breaking software that allows the truck to sense - from the very first touch - exactly how a driver wishes to operate.
Complementing that are three features employing revolutionary load-sensing software to minimise unwanted mast and vehicle movement.
The first of these - Adaptive Lift Control - ensures that lift/lower functions are smooth, consistent and jolt-free, regardless of the load weight or the speed of operation.
The second - Passive Sway Control - enables the chassis to move slightly to compensate for, and dampen, the motion of an elevated load.
And the third - Active Sway Control - is an award-winning, patented system that dramatically reduces mast sway to cut delays and speed up operations.
What's more, with a choice of performance modes, operators of all experience levels are instantly at home with the highly intuitive setup.
ECO mode is suitable for new users, providing natural, measured handling and extended shift life, whereas more experienced operators can switch to PRO mode and benefit from enhanced performance.
SENSiA is the undoubted class leader when it comes to driver welfare. The operator's compartment is 75 mm wider than competitor models, making it the only machine which fully protects the driver's left shoulder.
Accessing the compartment couldn't be easier thanks to a wide, no-slip step and ergonomic hand-grab which minimises the effort involved - a major factor when it's been calculated that the operator will typically mount and dismount the vehicle up to 100 times in a single shift.
