New, cutting-edge technology puts multiway reach truck in a different class
The latest generation of the SENSiA EX multiway reach truck range from Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks sees game-changing enhancements to handling precision, productivity and safety.
With six multi-directional travel modes, each selectable in an instant using an ergonomically designed keypad, the SENSiA EX navigates the tightest aisles, carrying loads up to 2500 kg, at heights of up to 10 metres.
Speed and safety around the site are optimised through the Sensitive Drive System which harnesses intuitive handling software that automatically adapts performance characteristics to the precise driving style of each individual driver.
Similarly, its Intelligent Cornering System calculates the speed, steering angle and load at the very start of a turn and automatically adjusts truck speed to ensure optimum handling when cornering — maximising both throughput and safety.
This is optimised by the all-wheel steering with 360° load wheels. Turning within the confines of the chassis legs, both wheels and loads are protected from damage.
To ensure maximum productivity at any height, SENSiA EX's robust chassis features Passive Sway Control. This dampens the elevated load motion that can occur when loads are handled at height, allowing the operator to move with less delay.
Alongside it, the truck's Adaptive Lift Control ensures lift and lower operations are smooth, consistent and jolt-free regardless of load weight or speed.
Using a new load sensing system, the pressure within the truck's hydraulic system adapts to each individual load to deliver more sensitive and accurate load handling over the entire capacity range of the machine.
The truck comes with a choice of controls. Fingertip hydraulic controls precisely activate lift, tilt, and spread functions whilst keeping finger movement to minimum.
Alternatively, customers can select a new dual joystick option. It allows simultaneous operation of both lift and tilt functions and is a great choice where a driver has small fingers or, conversely, large working gloves. To prevent accidental manoeuvres, right-side joystick movements are restricted to one axis at a time.
SENSiA's performance can be tailored to operator's needs with a choice of two settings as standard. While ECO mode keeps power consumption low and is ideal for new operators or extended shifts, PRO mode provides more experienced operators with higher performance - ideal for peak periods in the warehouse.
As with every Mitsubishi forklift truck, safety is paramount, which is why the SENSiA EX incorporates the company's widely acclaimed ClearView overhead guard and VisionMast to maximise upward and forward vision.
