NEXT GENERATION EDiA EM WILL OUTPERFORM ANY COMPETITOR
NEW ELECTRIC COUNTERBALANCE FROM MITSUBISHI FORKLIFT TRUCKS DELIVERS A SERIES OF GROUND-BREAKING NEW FEATURES
Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks has introduced a series of ground-breaking new features and options that ensure its new generation EDiA EM outclasses every rival 1.4 to 2.0 electric counterbalance.
Developed to overcome the risk of power drop-off on ramps, AutoBoost senses when speed needs maintaining and automatically activates acceleration and torque boosts — precisely when and where they're required.
Slippery conditions present no problems thanks to a combination of all-wheel steering and another innovation: an electric differential lock option. The result is outstanding traction and control, even in the most hostile environments, indoors or outside.
At the rear of the truck the steer wheels turn through a massive 100-degree lock to deliver and exceptionally tight turning circle for safe operation in the very tightest spaces. Importantly. There is no push back, even when setting off on full lock, removing the risk of damage to stock or racking.
At the front, both drive motors turn in different directions for better grip and precise handling.
Indeed, everything about the new EDiA EM has been designed to inspire confidence: for the operations manager as well as the driver.
State-of-the-art software automatically adapts performance characteristics to the driving style and ability of each individual operator, making handling totally intuitive.
Alongside that, an Intelligent Cornering System calculates the speed, angle, and load at the very start of a turn (rather than half-way through it) to automatically adjust truck speed to optimise handling when cornering — maximising throughput and safety.
Meanwhile, advanced sensing features like Adaptive Lift Control and Passive Sway Control ensure lift and lower operations are smooth, stable, consistent, and jolt-free regardless of load weight.
In this new generation, the EDiA EM features innovative controls including Dual Joysticks, which allow simultaneous operation of both lift and tilt. At the same time, by separating functions such as clamp opening, this option avoids accidental moves, especially where operators are wearing gloves.
There is also the option of the single Ergologic joystick, which can control several different key functions for intuitive, natural operation.
For applications where the operator is likely to remain in place for long periods, a mini steering wheel ensures the best possible driving position — with relaxed shoulders, excellent forwards visibility and minimal effort to operate the truck.
With a focus on safety, the EDiA EM offers a choice of projected red warning lines around the truck to help keep pedestrians at an appropriate distance. Front and rear safety spots (considered to be safer than blue spots) are activated according to the direction of travel.
Finally, thanks to the introduction of Li-ion batteries with high-speed opportunity charging, EDiA EM users can benefit from non-stop performance, including multi-shift working with no battery changes, no topping-up, and no maintenance requirements.
