PV4Life receives order from the German Armed Forces for the supply of mobile energy storage

Armed Forces buys 4 mobile energy storage systems "MobilHybrid MH12" for hybridization of existing gensets and 3 mobile photovoltaic (PV) devices for regenerative power production.

Etterschlag, Germany, February 14, 2019 - PV4Life GmbH, a leading provider of mobile energy storage solutions, has received an order from the Federal Office for the Equipment of the Bundeswehr. 4 mobile power storage units of the MobilHybrid MH12 type have been ordered and delivered, which are used to massively reduce the diesel consumption of existing power generators. The MobilHybrid stores the generated energy from power generators or photovoltaic modules and returns it to the consumer in just the right amount as needed, without wasting any electricity. The mobile energy storage units are also combined with mobile photovoltaic systems, thereby generating free and environmentally friendly solar power, which reduces the diesel consumption and the running time of conventional power generators by a further 20%.

The amortization of the systems is in continuous use under 2 years, on the one hand by the massive savings in fuel and maintenance costs, on the other hand, power generators can be used with lower power. This is made possible by the "Power-Boost" function integrated in the MobilHybrid system. Here, the power of the generator is added to the power of the power storage and reliably provided at high power requirements. Since many deployment devices have a high starting current and must be ready for use in a mission immediately, the high overload capacity of the energy storage for the Bundeswehr was also crucial.

Each of the 3 mobile PV systems consists of 12 high-power photovoltaic modules. These are enclosed in an intelligent framework that can be opened like a concertina in just 2 minutes. This means that up to 100 kWh of electricity can be generated daily in camps with high solar radiation. The compact and weatherproof storage system including the mobile PV system can be installed and put into operation within a few minutes.
