Mosca at Interpack 2023
Digital solutions for end-of-line packaging
From strapping to stretch wrapping for added stability or attaching bundles to pallets: when it comes to securing loads at the end of the packaging line, there are various requirements to be met depending on the type of goods, packaging material and destination. Further demands arise when the end-of-line packaging system is to be integrated into a fully automated, intelligent process.
Remote, time-independent machine control reduces downtime
Designed to meet all of today's requirements, the advanced Mosca SoniXs TR-Connect high-performance strapping machine combines the advantages of the company's SoniXs TR-6 Base and TR-6 Pro models. The TR-Connect can be easily integrated into existing production lines thanks to an integrated WebHMI and other standard interfaces. Mosca innovation manager Andreas Ding explains: "Key parameters including performance, current strap settings and availability can be monitored at any time via WebHMI and easily adapted to requirements." The new interface also simplifies machine commissioning and operation. An optional digital package adds functionality and enables all relevant machine parameters to be controlled via tablet computer – independent of time and place.
Machine portfolio ranges from stretch wrapping to pallet strapping
Interpack is where Mosca will also be showcasing a versatile end-of-line combination of conveyor technology, Movitec Saturn S6 stretch wrapper and KZV-111 pallet strapping machine. This system is ideal for the logistics, food or building supplies industries. Trade show visitors can look forward to a live demonstration of pallets being secured for transport using the best end-of-line solution. The wide range of stretch wrapping technology will be presented at Interpack by Mosca subsidiary Movitec (Stand E32, Hall 12) with the Saturn S8. Equipped with a double unwinding head, this fully automatic stretch wrapper is capable of wrapping up to 160 pallets per hour.
The Mosca KZV-111 pallet strapping machine is ideal for use in the logistics industry. Its movable strap lance accurately positions the strap and secures the goods to the pallet. Vertical strapping additionally stabilises lightweight products. Using eco-sustainable PET strapping made of 100% recycled materials, the KZV-111 straps up to 61 pallets per hour with a cycle time of about 12 seconds. The optional BSG-4 strap sealing unit enables users to further minimise the machine's material consumption – and reduce its carbon footprint.
TechCenter helps develop efficient end-of-line solutions
The new Mosca TechCenter also focuses on resource efficiency. Using various test set-ups to simulate vibrations, impact, crushing force or other factors, customers can test and optimise the stability and durability of their transport packaging systems under extreme conditions. Mosca is providing insight into the process at the company's Interpack stand: Strapped product pallets are placed in the tilt testing tool, which tips the pallets to a predefined angle. This enables customers to check the stability of a bundled load when it is tilted. CEO Timo Mosca explains the concept: "We subject our customers' transport security systems to extreme conditions in our TechCenter to show them how different aspects can be optimised. This way, we can use our expertise to help develop efficient, resource-saving solutions without having to compromise on safety or quality."
