Application at Offergeld: How Mosca and Offergeld are revolutionizing display logistics

Customized strapping machines for asymmetrical displays and sensitive cardboard packaging

What are sales displays?

Sales displays are specially designed presentation tools used in retail to present products attractively and promote sales. They can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from simple display stands to complex shelving systems. They are often made of cardboard or other lightweight materials for flexibility.

The challenge: Asymmetrical displays and sensitive cardboard packaging

The Offergeld Logistics Group is a logistics company that handles the storage, transportation and distribution of goods throughout Europe. An important part of its services is co-packing. Here, manufacturers of consumer goods commission Offergeld to set up their sales displays and fill them with the products. Offergeld then delivers these ready-prepared displays directly to the retail outlets. This service allows the product manufacturer to concentrate on its core tasks: production, further development, distribution and the actual sale of its goods.
Offergeld builds sales displays for a variety of products that are presented in supermarkets and other retail outlets. These displays need to be strapped securely and efficiently to ensure smooth transportation. The asymmetrical design of the sales displays and the delicate cardboard boxes, which would tear if strapped too tightly, posed a particular challenge. Johannes Wieder, Sales Manager Logistics at Mosca, explains: "The sales displays are only filled on one side at the top so that the cardboard box cannot be supported. This means there is a risk of it being damaged during strapping."

The solution: Customized strapping machines

Offergeld turned to Mosca. The strapping machine manufacturer from the Odenwald is known for its customized solutions.
In this case, Mosca supplied two machines that were specially tailored to Offergeld's needs:

SoniXs MS-6 KR-ZV
This machine enables gentle strapping and thus prevents damage to the sensitive sales displays.

KZV-121
This machine straps the Euro pallets with four CHEP pallets and dispenses edge protection to ensure a dimensionally stable load unit.

The results: Efficiency and safety

Thanks to Mosca 's powerful and reliable machines, the sales displays can not only be packaged efficiently, but also transported safely and without damage. Johannes Wieder emphasizes: "This project impressively demonstrates how maximum safety can be achieved with a minimum of packaging. This product line has achieved this in an exemplary manner." Gregor Thometzki, Head of Technology at Offergeld, is also very satisfied. He adds: "The Mosca take up less space and strap much faster. We were also able to integrate the system automatically into the existing conveyor technology and deploy employees who previously had to strap by hand in other areas."
