NBK’s Oldham coupling MOM to solve parallel and angular misalignment
Large permissible misalignment, High-torque, Long-term maintenance free metal coupling
Oldham couplings are 3-part couplings consisting of 2 hubs and 1 spacer. Slippage of hubs and a spacer allows large eccentricity and it is known for the parallel misalignment performance.
In the regular Oldham-type couplings, the spacer and hubs interfere with each other near outside diameter, so that the maximum allowable angular misalignment is small (1 degree - 1.5 degrees) and that the bending moment arises on the shaft.
NBK’s Oldham coupling MOM has the spacer projection structure. A resin pin placed in the spacer allows angular misalignment up to 2 degrees. It reduces burden on the shaft as well.
The spacer of MOM is made of FCD400, it is suitable for low speed and high-torque specification. High performance grease is applied in the gap between hubs and the spacer in order to prevent it from sticking. The grease accumulated in a grease hole will gradually seep out during operation, thereby maintaining the lubrication property over a long period.
Examples of applications: Mixer / Pump / Small power press / Grinder / Sliding doors / Packing machines
Bore size modification and Keyway modification service is available. RoHS2 compliant.
