New Truck Shop equiped with Nergeco flexible doors in Sierra Gorda

Sierra Gorda mine achieved a new landmark in its construction stage, with the handover by the Project area of the new Truck Shop for the Mine Maintenance zone, with up-to-date premises, equipments and standards for the welfare and better performance of the area.

During the first 3 weeks, different training courses have been given for the handover of each of the premises to the supervision of the company Komatsu and to the mine personnel in the use and function of the different systems, such as offices, workshop Nergeco high speed doors, lube systems in the 8 sheds and the use of the overhead crane.

“It was easy to change over and start working in the workshop. The convenience is undeniable and everything is working well. The people are very happy because they have new, first-class installations”, said the Mobile Equipment Superintendent.

The Truck Shop will attend to a fleet of 42 machines, both internal and those that belong to the contracts with Komatsu and Cummings. Also, it has offices for 220 people, and the meal room is already operating, together with the change rooms with capacity to cover Mine Operations and Mine Maintenance.
