The Art of a Gearbox

41, in my prime, Frank went to Frankfurt. It was in the middle of April, the weather was a bit chilly still, but the fire and flame belched redly inside of my heart. It was my first Schengen travel, so every breath of air was new, every shade of sunshine was different and every train station I passed by and every people I met and talked to had a strong bond with the products we produced, the high precision planetary gearboxes.

Planetary gearbox might be an odd name for those who aren’t from the mechanical world. Same here. It is not easy to paint a picture to my friends outside of the realm of machining and automation. As a matter of fact, we shall praise the lord to have people master this meshing technology which has changed the world for the past 80 years.

Planetary gearbox is a most important parts in the power transmission industry. It increases the torque and reduces the speed from an electric motor or other power input devices. The art of automation technology makes our lives easier and the civilization on this blue planet more advanced. From the dental drills to robot joints, and from the AGV/ARM to 3D printers, where there is a power transmission, there would be most likely planetary gearboxes.

As we always know, HANNOVER MESSE is the most important international platform and hot spot for industrial transformation - with excellent innovations and unusual products. I arrived at the Messe the same day when my flight landed on the Frankfurt international airport and met my colleagues at our booth and from there commenced the NEWSTART fantastic Hannover Show.

The Messe started from April 22nd and ended on April 26th. During the happiness surrounded 5 days stays, we met our old friends from Belgium, Holland, Iran, Austria, Germany, Turkey, UK... We exchanged ideas with the industrial top brands and several professional high precision gearbox solutions were discussed just there. Every people visited our booth were remarkable polite and joyful, including our overseas “competitors”. Two of a trade can never agree? I don’t think so. The key word for a planetary gearbox would be meshing. Meshing is a cooperation between sun gears and planetary gears, not defying each other.

It was a wonderful time with every moment to savor genuinely. The wheels must have magic - they drive the world as well as my fate.
