Industry News

According to reports from Xinhua News Agency and China News Service on July 11, the research report "Global Power Development Index (2026)" was officially released at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on July 10 (local time). Compiled by the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO), the report comprehensively assesses the power development levels of 100 countries across four dimensions: supply security, consumption services, green and low-carbon transition, and technological innovation. The assessed economies account for 97% of the world's total electricity demand.

The report ranks Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, China, and Norway as the top five in the global comprehensive power development index. Notably, China ranked first globally in the technological innovation dimension with a score of 98.1, and leads the world in total installed capacity of clean energy and the application of digital-intelligent power technologies. The report also highlights that approximately 655 million people worldwide still lack access to electricity, and about 2 billion people do not have access to clean cooking fuels, underscoring the urgent need for energy transition.
