Starting up a feeding system for round bars

The system is designed to separate round steel bars in various dimensions (diameters of 30 - 70 mm and lengths of 200 - 600 mm) from the bulk material and feed them in the correct position to a press transfer.

Today we have successfully completed the internal commissioning of a feeding system for round steel bars and will deliver it in a shipping container to our customer overseas in the next step, where it will be set up and recommissioned.

The system will separate round steel bars in various dimensions (diameters of 30 - 70 mm and lengths of 200 - 600 mm) from the bulk material and feed them in the correct position to a press transfer.

The cut-to-length round steel bars, which are provided in mesh boxes, are tipped into a storage hopper using a hydraulic tipping device and conveyed into a heavy-duty step conveyor using a dosing chute. There, the round bars weighing up to 15 kg are separated and fed to a downstream buffer section via a discharge conveyor.

When the downstream transfer has removed a round steel bar, the erector is moved to its pick-up position and loaded with a new round steel bar and then moved to the transfer removal position.

The system is designed and built for 24/7 operation with a machine availability of 98%. At the customer's request, we can connect to the system control at any time via the built-in remote maintenance module and provide appropriate support in the event of faults and problems.
