New clothes sorting conveyors in a laundry

Aware of OCA's expertise in overhead handling, a major name in industrial laundry, Anett, turned to our teams to meet several of its needs.

Industrial laundries have high demands when it comes to managing and sorting all their customers' laundry. To maintain high-performance production indicators in all stages of textile processing (reception, washing, drying, folding and dispatch), it is necessary to call on the services of production agents. However, it's not always easy to move around and work optimally in a cluttered production area.

Reorganize to work better, the secret of OCA sorting conveyors

Aware of OCA's expertise in overhead handling, a major name in industrial laundry, Anett, turned to our teams to meet several of its needs. The number of customers, and therefore of garments to be sorted and prepared, is constantly increasing at this laundry processing company. As a result, our customer needed to :

- store more garments at the end of the finishing tunnel to optimize their redirection to two visiting stations;

- to add overhead linen storage for open-air drying. Some fabrics cannot withstand the temperature generated by the finishing tunnels;

- reduce the length of the bars used for sorting garments, to facilitate the operator's work;

- create new overhead storage areas for garments waiting to be folded and those on hangers, awaiting delivery.

Flying garments for high-performance production indicators

Optimizing industrial production space is part of the daily routine for OCA teams. Industrial laundry accounts for almost half of our business. That's why our team members have naturally implemented efficient garment sorting solutions.

To offer our customer Anett a pertinent response, our overhead handling experts first of all provided storage for 900 garments at the exit of the finishing tunnel. In addition, a conveyor was installed for the overhead storage of around 200 garments for the more delicate line, so that these could be air-dried.

As a result, Anett now has two separate overhead warehouses for pre-folding storage at two destinations, with a throughput of over 1,000 garments per folder. In total, 17 OCA overhead conveyors are counted within this industrial laundry, enabling storage of over 5,000 garments!

To maximize the performance of production operators, our teams have also set up a roll-stacking station for shipment to customers, with a recirculation system.

What are the benefits of these garment sorting conveyors?

Ultimately, all the actions carried out by our aerial handling experts enabled our customer to optimize its space by maximizing its aerial surface area. The installations in question also improved and perfected the operators' working conditions through ergonomic workstations. In addition to preventing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), staff are able to move around safely in the production area, which is now free of all loads.

OCA's overhead garment storage and sorting systems offer complete tracking of garments, while respecting Anett's production rhythm. Work flow and simplicity are now the watchwords for employees at this famous laundry. Comfort and profitability are now guaranteed for our customer!
