OMG filter pumps — our “case study” on a specialized Italian journal:
High Quality Filtration: further confirmation in the successful case of a Piedmont sanitary taps: elimination of polished and rough pitting
OMG had got the possibility to discuss a “case study” in which it explained how a sanitary taps (an historical client), had solved his problems with polished and rough pitting. As you surely know, the surface treatment is one of the most critical steps of the production process, especially for Companies, which need a product without any defects.
Purposes:
1. To expose a critical situation of galvanic filtration, detected at a Piedmont
sanitary taps;
2. To prove that the continued cooperation and attention in production processes can lead, especially in the long term, to a decrease of noncompliances, resulting in higher quality product.
1. The Sanitary Taps and Situation:
The sanitary taps had 2 filter pumps NON OMG, which could not hold the
residues of cleaning and turning, the organic and inorganic particles of various
nature and origin, as well as the resin foundry. Whit powder coal treatment,
necessary to eliminate the organic substances, the problem were accentuated:
filter pumps were not able to retain the coal, which was poured into the tank
causing the contamination of the Ni bath.
2.Solution:
The client decided to contact a trusted distributor of OMG: the "cooperation flow" (pic.1) started.
The objective was the “customer satisfaction”, to be reached using all the technical skills required. Mr. Stefano Gibogini, OMG manager, immediately came to the client and, after a careful analysis of the dimensions and type of the bath, suggested the filter pump CESE 5 (pic. 1).
The customer has been reported a continuous and rapid clogging of the filtering
block, due to the significant amount of undesired substances in the plating bath.
As states by Mr Gibogini: "It is often recommended to evaluate an higher initial investment: it could become a future saving in terms of time, not compliances, better quality and greater customer satisfaction."
