Joint Preperation
Cutting saws and tube squaring devices.
Every welder knows: the path to a perfect weld begins with proper joint preparation. Only precise preparation leads to high-quality welds that can even meet the stringent requirements of the high-purity industry.
When welding pipes, edge preparation is especially critical. For this purpose, Orbitec offers cutting saws and tube squaring devices.
An orbital cutting saw delivers a precise 90° cut. A tube squaring device ensures that the pipe ends are not only perpendicular but also flat. Additionally, the pipe ends are freed from burrs and irregularities that may result from cutting or prior processing.
S-LT Cutting Saw
The S-LT Cutting saw from Orbitec features a powerful drive motor. Depending on the application, versions with 4, 5, or 6 stainless steel clamping jaws and reduction jaws are available. Concentric clamping prevents deformation, even on thin-walled pipes.
The tube squaring devices are available in two versions:
• the small and handy Planfix 40 S
• and the powerful Planfix 115 S, which features facing and chamfering device with an angular gearbox
Planfix 40 S
The Planfix 40 S is a powerful and handy facing device for cordless or mains-powered mobile or stationary use. It has a large inspection window, an indexable insert holder, indexable inserts that can be used on two sides and a feed with 0.1 mm scale graduation. Existing Orbitec planar steels can be used without an indexable insert holder as an alternative. The new indexable inserts are characterised by a long service life and can quickly and reliably machine unalloyed, low-alloyed and high-alloyed steels with high precision.
Planfix 115 S
The Planfix 115 S is a powerful facing and chamfering device with an angular gearbox for mains-powered mobile or stationary use. It has a large inspection window, a chip collector and a feed with 0.1 mm scale graduation. The equipment can be used with an indexable insert holder for indexable inserts that can be used on two sides or with the familiar Orbitec L planar steels as an option.
