ORing Unveils Full Gigabit, Water-proof Industrial Ethernet Switch with Embedded Q-ODC Interface

The world is expected to see increasingly extreme weather as global climate change intensifies. As extreme environments require more powerful and reliable solutions, ORing has launched a full-Gigabit managed Ethernet switch combed with PoE support and the world's smallest and most robust Q-ODC connectors. The switch is designed especially for harsh industrial applications, especially the railway, vehicle, and rolling stock markets.

This new product, known as TGPS-W9442GF-MM-M12X-QS-MV-IP67, comes with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports and two Gigabit fiber ports. Four of the Ethernet ports are fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standard which allows for delivery of power over Ethernet up to 30W per port. With scheduled configuration and PoE auto-ping check support, users can manage PoE power in an efficient and convenient way. The switch also provides PoE power on delay function. Usually, when multiple PoE devices are connected to the switch, simultaneous power-on of these devices may result in an overload of the switch power supply, triggering the power supply overload protection. With PoE power on delay function, this problem can be avoided as users can postpone the port to feed power to the PD for a period of time when the switch is booted up. This function also eliminates video streaming traffic jam.

The switch also sets a new benchmark for outdoor fiber optic connectivity as the two fiber ports are equipped with Huber+Suhner's Q-ODC connectors. Featuring outstanding water and dust protection as well as corrosion and vibration resistance, the compact fiber connector, claimed to be the world's smallest and most robust design, significantly enhances the robustness and durability of the switch. These capabilities have been validated through a series of stringent tests such as the IP6X dust ingress testing, IP67 waterproof testing, and extended IPX8 testing for water immersion. In addition, the push-pull coupling design of the connector makes connecting and disconnecting a no brainer since only two defined mating states are possible, either mated or unmated.
