Mediaco chooses Palazzani and goes high with a Spider Lift XTJ 52!
The number one of the lifting company in France come back into the lifting market and makes some investements in equipment and specialized staff.
With 60 offices, a fleet of 600 mobile cranes (including various models from 300 to 750 tons), 500 transport machines, 1500 employees and around 300 million turnover, Mediaco Group is considered the number one in the field of lifting in France, the third in Europe and the seventh in the world.
The French Group, specialized mainly in rental and services for lifting, transport, assembly / disassembly, maintenance, has recently re-launched its attention also in Aerial Platform sector, making important investments in specialized Staff, important equipment and machinery. Among other machines recently included in the rental fleet, Mediaco acquired also one Palazzani XTJ 52 platform during the year.
Frédéric Codina, Head of Sales Manager at Mediaco Location Services explains « I have been working in the Air Work Platforms business for about fifteen years. Mediaco wanted to relaunch this activity with my arrival in the company ».
The choice of such an important model, the Spider XTJ 52 is the highest Spider currently on the market, has matured after several meetings and visits to the Italian Company. «I wanted a telescopic machine, of sure reliability» says Codina «to be used mainly in the mobile telephone sector, which often has lines positioned in places of difficult access, such as hills with irregular or steep terrain, woods, etc. »
Ragno XTJ 52, jewel of the Palazzani Spider Lifts range, has been chosen for its 52 meters of aerial work height and 19.5 meters of outreach, in a tracked version and bi-energy engine (Diesel + AC) for working mainly outdoors, but also indoor when needed. The telescopic main boom and the articulated telescopic jib guarantee an exceptional working area.
The stow dimensions (length 8898 mm - height 2400 mm) allow the platform to reach sites of difficult access, while the enlarging tracks guarantees maximum stability during transfer and the overcoming of slopes up to 40%.
The French Group has decided the configuration in detail, in fact the machine is customized with Mediaco colors and adhesives and full-optional, to be used for all possible applications: with hydraulic winch of 500 kg of material lifting capacity, standard basket of 2400x700 mm and 3 working areas of 120, 230 and 400 kg capacity to perform at best all aerial works, radio control to easily maneuver it from the ground, air-water hose to the basket for using cleaning tools, intercommunication system, anemometer for safe aerial work and electric generator for using electric tools from the basket when power source is not available.
The day after the delivery at the headquarters of Mediaco Aquitaine in Bordeaux, where the operator training course took place, the machine was immediately put to the test with a very demanding intervention in terms of access. It was about a replacement and repair of a telephone antenna in Tarbes - south of France – which required to transfer through a narrow and uneven path into the hill, with slopes and curves, and to set-up in a narrow area in the wood surrounded by trees. The rain made it all the more difficult, due to the mud that complicated the climb maneuvers, but the operation ended successfully and the Spider XTJ 52 passed the exam very well!
