Stuttgart / Kamen, February 13th, 2020 - The Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG presents its newly developed VCL compact conductor system (VAHLE COMPACT LINE) at this year's LogiMAT. The solution has been designed for shuttle systems, automatic small parts storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) and for compact transfer car applications in the small and medium performance range. At the LogiMAT from March the 10th to 12th in hall 1 at booth C31, VAHLE shows how energy transmission can be realized safely and reliably even in unfavourable space conditions.

"The intralogistics industry requires increasingly dynamic storage solutions. We provide the base for this with innovative products for safe signal and power supply such as our new VAHLE Compact Line - or VCL," says Rüdiger Jour, Product Manager at VAHLE. Due to its modular and compact design, the solution is especially designed for the use in shuttle systems, miniload and AS/RS applications as well as transfer car applications in the small and medium power range.

"It differs from other systems in particular through its modularity, scalability and simple installation," emphasizes Jour. The VCL can be individually configured according to the application and is therefore a multifunctional solution for continuous power supply. It is available with 2 to 6 poles and fulfills power requirements between 40 amps (galvanized steel conductor) and 100 amps (copper conductor) and voltages from 12 to 500 volts. In addition, the product is compatible with the proven VAHLE Multi-Carrier (VMT) and extends it by an inexpensive and compact solution for warehouse technology applications with large suspension distances of up to 3.5 meters.

Due to its ultra-compact design, the system can be easily and simply installed even inside a shuttle track. Low follow-up costs due to durable carbon brushes are another plus for the operator. As with all VAHLE products, safety comes first with the VCL: Contact protection according to IP2x (finger protection and protection against foreign bodies) as well as an optional PE protective conductor guarantee trouble-free and accident-free operation.

With its space-saving new development, VAHLE is also reacting to the special requirements in multi-channel logistics for online trade. Unlike in classical warehouses, the article variance here is very high, while the individual quantities per order picking process are comparatively low. In order to take this into consideration, scalable small and mid-size shuttle systems are increasingly used in such cases, which provide only little installation space for the power supply. These require particularly compact energy supply systems.
