Chairs for BPPV treatment by CTRV Innovation are equipped with and secured by Perjes devices
The role of PERJES in this medical innovation?
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most common forms of vertigo, causing episodes of dizziness and nausea in many patients. Most often, this disorder is caused by movement of crystals in the inner ear, disrupting signals to the brain. CTRV Innovation designed the TRV Chair for diagnosis and daily treatment of positional vertigo.
These devices are generally used by specialist medical practitioners like ENTs, and their innovative design stems from research in automobile mechanics. Invented by Thomas Richard-Vitton, the TRV Chair is now a real solution for treating positional vertigo.
The role of PERJES in this medical innovation?
The TRV Chair is fitted with custom-built VA3 electromagnetic bolt locks supplied by Perjes that are critical for its safe operation.
Thanks to its magnetic control technology, the electromagnetic lock (operated by footswitch) enables locking of the frame’s horizontal axis with the patient in one of the following positions:
1. Standard (vertical, head upright).
2. 30 ° above the horizontal plane for caloric testing.
The electromagnetic lock secures the device and ensures adequate support is provided thanks to a remote-controlled locking system. This reliable and robust security device protects against free-fall, overspeed and unintended movement. The VA3 model can hold a load of up to 3 tons.
