Split EMC connection block makes reliable contact with cable screens up to 65 mm diameter
HÜCKESWAGEN – Energy cables with large cross sections are very rigid and consequently can be installed only with some effort. To feed these screened cables into a switchgear cabinet and make EMC-safe contact, PFLITSCH developed a splittable EMC connection block in nickel-plated brass that simplifies installation. The connection block dispenses with the tiresome and time-consuming process of threading through the cables.
First, the robust base of the EMC block is mounted in the switchgear cabinet at the cable entry, the cable is then brought into position and the cable sheath removed at the contact point to expose the cable screening braid. The prepared cable is then positioned in the EMC connection block, the top part of the block pressed into place and secured with two screws.
At this point, the similarly split, non-magnetic TRI spring – familiar from the high-quality PFLITSCH blueglobe TRI® cable gland – presses reliably around the cable screening braid. As is usual with PFLITSCH EMC variants, this arrangement achieves very high screening attenuation, with values way above the norm, even at high frequencies.
The PFLITSCH EMC connection block is currently made in five sizes for cable diameters of 20 mm to 65 mm. The block will shortly be further available in sizes M25 and M32.
