Within the framework of IFAT Munich 2024, the global summit for waste and resource management, PICVISA is positioned at the forefront of the sector with the launch of disruptive solutions in waste classification and recycling: the Reuser prototype for textiles and the innovative system ECOFLAKE for plastics.

Reuser: Driving automatic classification for the second-hand textile market with Artificial Intelligence

PICVISA introduces Reuser , a pioneering system designed to revolutionize the recovery of used textiles, thus supporting the second-hand market. Using artificial intelligence, Reuser classifies garments with unprecedented precision, identifying specific typologies such as skirts, shirts, pants and socks. This detailed classification allows not only greater efficiency in the selection of garments but also an extension of the life cycle of textiles, aligning with the principles of the circular economy. Currently, PICVISA is also developing a solution capable of detecting the level of wear of the garment.  

ECOFLAKE: Advanced Technology

The ECOFLAKE system emerges as an advanced technological solution to the challenge of separating flakes of different materials with unprecedented precision and efficiency. Using high-definition RGB CMOS cameras along with NIR technology, ECOFLAKE achieves detailed classification by color, transparency and composition of materials. Designed to respond to the needs of the plastics, metals and textile recycling industry, ECOFLAKE marks a turning point towards more sustainable processes that have less impact on the environment.
