Automation specialist Pilz at Innotrans 2014 in Berlin (23 – 26.09.2014) – Industrial control technology on railways

"Pilz is a competent partner for industrial safety technology on railways. Our universal programmable safety systems are efficient in meeting the highest safety requirements in the railway technology and transport sectors", explains Renate Pilz, Chair of the Board of Pilz GmbH & Co. KG.

At Innotrans Pilz will be presenting the -R modules from the automation system PSS 4000, which meet the particular requirements of rail traffic. The universal programmable safety system is robust against the electromagnetic interference, extreme temperatures and mechanical loads that typically occur in a railway environment. The -R modules in the automation system PSS 4000 have CENELEC approvals in accordance with EN 50121, EN 50126,

EN 50129 and EN 50155. PSS 4000-R already has railway-specific safety approvals as a product feature. The automation system is SIL 4-capable across the whole application.

PSS 4000 is already used throughout Europe in a wide range of railway applications. It monitors unguarded level crossings or performs line control and communication tasks, for example.

With standardised, industry-proven solutions from Pilz, users can decrease their dependence on proprietary railway solutions and reduce the work involved in certification and approval. The ability to encapsulate function blocks and the availability of block-oriented programming language also help to reduce engineering work substantially.

Pilz is exhibiting in Hall 6.2, Stand 511.
