The brief introduction of PRATIC’s three types of tool magazines.

In nowaday cnc machining process, automatic tool changing is essential to improve the production efficiency. The tool magazine system is a device for the storage and automatic tool change required in the machining process of CNC machining center. Its automatic tool change mechanism and tool magazine that can store multiple tools have changed the traditional production method based on people.

According to the different characteristics of different series of machining centers, PRATIC chooses the most suitable tool magazines for them. Here we introduce different types of tool magazines used for different PRAITC machining centers as follows:

1)Disc Type Tool Magazine: the magazine shape is like a disc, and the tool holding capacities are 20/24/32/36pcs, the adjacent tool change time is 2 or 3 seconds. The biggest advantage of disc type tool magazine is its quick tool change time, so this type is most commonly used for PRATIC PYC/PDC/PYA4D/PZB/PCD/PHA/PW/PWA series machining centers.

2)Umbrella Type Tool Magazine: the magazine shape is like an umbrella, and the tool holding capacities are 6/12/16/20pcs, the adjacent tool change time is 6 or 8 seconds. Umbrella type tool magazines have simple structure, so they are easy to maintain and their costs are not high. They are used for PRAITC PCD/PCD5D/PHA5D/PHB/PHB5D series machining centers.

3)Arm Type (Turret Type) Tool Magazine: the magazine shape is like an arm or turret, and the tool holding capacities are 16pcs, the adjacent tool change time is 2 seconds. Arm Type (Turret Type) tool magazines have smaller sizes and they are lighter than other types of tool magazines, and the tool change time is quicker. They are used for PRATIC PIC/PIS series machining centers.
