The Q63 Lab Autoclave Breaks the Rules

The Priorclave Q63, 320 litre front loading capacity autoclave has given research and general laboratories a real opportunity to acquire this more economically priced cylindrical chamber design rather than investing in a large rectangular chamber steam steriliser.

The 320 litre Q63 front loading autoclave has a 630mm chamber which is 1025mm deep and for easy, convenient loading Priorclave has given this model a loading height of just 725mm. This taller profile than that found in most ‘cylindrical’ steam sterilizers give the steam steriliser an impressive load capacity, making it a viable alternative to larger more costly rectangular chamber autoclaves, yet it is able to achieve the same sterilising throughput..

Whilst offering increased load capacity for sterilization, the combination of features such as forced air cooling to reduce cycle times and automatic timed free-steaming for improved air removal add to the overall sterilising performance of the Q63 autoclave.

The efficiency and effectiveness of the sterilizing cycle also ensures that research and general laboratories may also benefit from lower overall running costs associated with reduced power and water usage.

Advanced Simple Controls

All operating settings are programmed easily through the Tactrol® 2 microprocessor controller which is standard across the entire Priorclave range.

From simple cycles to fully featured multi-program operation with printed records, this unique and powerful control system gives unrivalled flexibility and monitoring. Control options are available for every autoclaving need. TACTROL®2 is extremely simple to use, just set the temperature and time required, select any options needed and press start. A tough, clear control panel with digital displays continuously provides information on status.

By fully automating the autoclave process and including features to assist with autoclave management, TACTROL®2 allows you to continue with other tasks secure in the knowledge that autoclaving is proceeding safely and efficiently. Packed with self-monitoring systems, TACTROL®2 has pre-set actions for events such as power failure or low water levels. A number of features are built in allowing cycle optimisation for the diverse functions demanded by the modern laboratory.

For a busy laboratory the option of a secure key-lock on the front of the control panel governs access to certain parameter settings preventing unauthorised access to certain pre-set programs. There are three levels of authorisation – pre-set which is the basic setting, intermediary allowing adjustment of cycle times and temperatures and master level allowing other performance settings to be activated such as accelerated cooling and media warming. The benefits of manual key-switch make accessing each different level much simpler and faster.

TACTROL®2 can be configured to log all temperature, pressure time and cycle data into a single compact archive file which can be subsequently downloaded onto a USB flash drive for transfer to computer. This enables operational data to be forwarded from anywhere in the world direct to Priorclave’s UK Service Centre for technical assistance in fine-tuning and clarification of autoclave performance if required.

Strength in Design

The build of the Priorclave front loading Q63 autoclave incorporates epoxy coated panels and frame members treated with an anti-bacterial agent that is highly effective and permanent treatment for control of harmful bacteria, making surfaces cleaner, more hygienic and providing durable lifelong protection against the threat of cross contamination. This tough special epoxy finish is proven to reduce bacterial growth by up to 99.99% and is highly effective against MRSA, E.coli, Listeria, Legionella, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Pseudomonas and over 50 other species.

The all-round design benefits of the Q63 cylindrical chamber autoclaves will appeal to laboratory managers in diverse industrial sectors such as food, drink, dairy, pharmaceutical, agricultural, education, healthcare as well as dedicated research establishments wanting a more affordable high-capacity autoclave. It is ideal for sterilising applications such as media preparation, liquids and diluent, waste, glassware instruments and pieces of apparatus that need superior cleansing.

The Q63 320l front loading autoclave is part of an extensive autoclave range designed and manufactured in the UK by specialist autoclave producer Priorclave and follows one of the most stringent QA programs, conforming to either PED or ASME standards depending on which country the autoclave will be installed.

Priorclave, a household name within the global laboratory market, has developed and manufactures an impressive autoclave range that includes top and front loading machines in various configurations – benchtop, free-standing and double-ended designs - laboratory autoclaves that have become synonymous with quality, reliability and highly efficient autoclaving processes.
