IFPE Download: Crusher hydraulics handles the toughest tasks

Allu, a Finnish manufacturer of material handling attachments, introduced the new Allu Crusher at Conexpo/IFPE 2020.

The new heavy duty range of Allu crushing attachments is purpose designed to meet the requirements of the demolition, recycling and quarrying industries. The Allu Crusher range lets users effectively reduce hard rock and often troublesome demolition materials.

Initially the company will offer three models for excavators in the 10 to 33 ton range. All have purpose developed features that ease their use and optimize performance, while providing easy maintenance in the field.

The Allu crusher, with internal screening and crushing drums, attaches to the base machine by an adapter or a quick coupler. All the drums rotate in the same direction. Hydraulic power from the base machine transfers via hydraulic hoses to the hydraulic motor of the crusher. The motor then sends the power to the drums via chains and chain wheels and screened and crushed material flow through the unit.

Crushing power is supplied by an orbital motor whose size depends on the model. Also, the smallest Allu Crusher model runs with one motor while the larger ones have two. Operating pressure is 250 bar (3,625 psi). Maximum operation flow ranges from 95 l/min in the smallest AC 10-16 model to 180 l/min in the AC 25-37 model which is the largest, in the range.

The base machine is equipped with a two-way control valve that lets the operator maintain control over the crusher’s performance and direct rotation of the crushing movements in both directions. The fact that it can be run in reverse reduces the potential for jamming and blockages, and avoids obstruction with rebar, while delivering greater levels of production and reducing the need for any manual involvement in the crushing process. Also, the crusher opens like a “clam.” This design ensures easy and quick replacement of wear parts through ease of access, saving time spent on maintenance, thereby minimizing risk to operators and maximizing productive crushing.
