Index to introduce three next-gen metalworking machines at IMTS 2022

Index will debut the next generations of its G220 turn/mill centre, MS32-6 CNC multispindle, and TNL12 sliding-headstock lathe, at IMTS 2022. The company also will present information on the latest additions to its iX4.0 Industry 4.0 platform and offer demonstrations of a metal 3D printer from its subsidiary One Click Metal.

With twin spindles, dual tool turrets, a 5-axis milling spindle, and high-capacity tool magazine, the turn/mill centre can produce a variety of parts in a single setup. Its milling spindle offers a hydrodynamically mounted Y/B axis arranged above the axis of rotation.

The CNC multispindle features a modular design with user-friendly setup. Accommodating up to 32-mm bar stock, it handles a variety of complex parts, as the machine is equipped with two V-shaped cross slides at each spindle position. Each cross slide offers X and Z axes as standard, and C and Y axes, together with live tools, also can be implemented.

The sliding-headstock lathe features four tool carriers that can be applied to a workpiece simultaneously. The front-working attachment and counter spindle are now housed on separate slides to eliminate potential interdependence between front-end and counterspindle machining.
