Record month for Clark Contracts

Scottish construction, refurbishment and maintenance contractor Clark Contracts booked £11m of new orders in March, making it the most successful month ever in the company’s 37-year history

Clark Contracts won 10 new contracts in March 2015, totalling £11m. Individual contracts ranged in value from £120,000 to £4.7m.

The largest was a contract from Falkirk Council to undertake the first phase of the regeneration of Denny town centre. This involves the construction of 10 new build retail units, a library and community space with associated car parking and public realm works, including a town square.

The company is also to build a new retail unit in Falkirk, on the site of a former garage, for the outside catering company, David’s Kitchen.

And East Ayrshire Council has appointed Clark Contracts to refurbish a vehicle depot at Western Road in Kilmarnock.

Adding further to Clark Contracts’ growing track record in the education sector, the new business includes work for the Universities of Abertay, Edinburgh and Strathclyde, the latter a fit-out on level six of the new Technology & Innovation Centre in Glasgow.

Clark Contracts’ Maintenance Division also won new business last month, including a contract from Stirling Council for building, drainage and electrical maintenance work.

Managing director Gordon Cunningham said, “In terms of winning new business, this is the most successful month ever in the company’s 37 year history. We believe this puts us in a strong position to achieve our third consecutive year of growth.”
