Portable Blower Cleans Machined Parts, Collects Chips

Custom Service Solutions Inc. offers its MiJET compact parts cleaning and collection unit

Using a single existing air line at a CNC machine, the pneumatically driven cleaning unit cleans parts and saves money by capturing expensive coolants for reuse. It also captures chips for recycling while minimizing the risk of workers inhaling coolant aerosol or having it settle on floors to create slippery conditions. Air is driven out of the nozzle while vacuum suction pulls the valuable coolant into the container.

One-touch operation enables users to blow off and clean parts immediately after machining and during machine operation, resulting in faster cycle times and increased productivity. The unit can also be useful at an inspection station to clean off oily parts prior to inspection.

MiJET utilizes an existing shop air line and is easy to incorporate into a work cell since no electricity is required. The small, portable unit can easily be installed next to a CNC machine.

Optional accessories include castors to ease relocation, a parts basket to hold parts during cleaning and a low-noise Silvent air nozzle. Exhausted air is filtered to levels that can help facilities meet OSHA standards.
