MicroMo Electronics has Powerful Ultra-Flat DC Motors MicroMo Electronics, Inc. announces the addition of two new powerful, ultra-flat DC motors to its product line

The motors are 15 and 26 mm in diameter with a housing length of 5 or 7 mm. The motors possess an outstanding power to volume ratio and can achieve a constant torque of up to 3 mNm and speeds up to 10,000 rpm. The low overall height is enabled by the ironless rotor with three flat, oval coils. The rotor revolves with minimal moment of inertia in an axially aligned neodymium magnetic field, without cogging or iron loss. Because of the precious metal commutation, the transition resistances are low which means that the motor can operate with small starting voltages. As a result, these motors are particularly suitable for battery operated portable devices.

The motors are available as geared motorheads with attached spur gear. With this configuration the constant torque of the drives can be increased up to 100 mNm. Most versions are immediately available from stock with a 24 - 48 hour turnaround.
