Video. Self-driving Vehicles Seize Chicago

Self-driving vehicles grabbed the spotlight at this year’s IMTS fair in Chicago

Olli is a 12-passenger driverless minibus that uses sensors and laser mapping cameras linked to a GPS and inertial guidance to find its way. It can pick up riders on demand, similar to Uber cars. Modified versions could be used to deliver parcels or for advertising. Otto is an indoor delivery vehicle that can carry 100 kg. Initially, front and rear lasers create a map of its service area. It then can navigate the building independently, even avoiding unforeseen obstacles. This differs from traditional AGVs, which can only follow a pre-programmed route.
