HELIOS ONE: A NEW BREAKTHROUGH IN 3D PRINTING?

Orange Maker Claims Revolutionary Breakthrough With Heliolithography

American start-up Orange Maker recently announced that it has developed a new and unique 3D printing technology based on stereolithography. It has called its new technology heliolithography and will soon begin to commercialize it through its first 3D printer, Helios One.

The company claims its technology will be faster, more accurate and reliable than current stereolithography printers. It is claimed Helios One will be capable of producing a higher definition surface impression and rendering.

According to Orange Maker the technology does not overlap successive layers of material, typically plastic (ABS or PLA), but uses new techniques, including a rotating plate that stretches the material to achieve a unique type of 3D printing. The company is somewhat vague on the type of light source it uses to solidify the resin, only saying it employs a different source to the standard ALS UV lasers or spotlights.

For now, we will have to satisfy our interest with the very cool video they have released to promote Helios One.
